SellScribe (sellscribe.io) is an AI-powered product description generator for e-commerce sellers, operated as a small, independently run service. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact [email protected].
Account information. If you create an account: your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store or can see your actual password). We also record your plan tier, email verification status, and account creation/last-login timestamps.
What you type into the generator. Product name, category, features, target audience, SEO keywords, and brand voice sample are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate your description. We do not store the text you generate — not the inputs, not the output. Once the response is returned to your browser, our server keeps no copy of it.
Usage metadata. To enforce plan limits and monitor for abuse, we log lightweight metadata for each generation: which platform and tone you selected, how many versions you requested, a timestamp, and (for signed-in users) your account ID. This log never includes the actual product description text.
Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — we only store a Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, and subscription status so we can sync your plan tier.
Technical and device information. We log your IP address with each generation request as part of our generation metadata (see Data retention below), used for rate limiting, abuse monitoring, and enforcing our one-time free trial for visitors who haven't created an account. If you use the generator without an account, your browser also stores a randomly generated device identifier (in local storage) that's sent alongside your requests for the same trial-enforcement purpose — this is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking, and it isn't collected at all once you have an account.
Cookies. We set exactly one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you logged in (httpOnly, secure, and expiring after 30 days). We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party tracking scripts on this site.
Email communications. If you create an account or subscribe, we send transactional emails: email verification, password reset, subscription confirmation, and cancellation confirmation. We may also send marketing or product update emails to account holders from time to time. We'll always give you a clear way to opt out (an unsubscribe link in every marketing email), and where required by law — for example, for recipients in the EU/UK — we'll obtain your consent before sending marketing email in the first place.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content you type into the generator to build advertising profiles.
We use a small number of third-party services (subprocessors) to run SellScribe. Each only receives what it needs to do its job:
We don't share your information with anyone else, and we don't sell or rent it for marketing purposes.
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Generation metadata (platform/tone/version counts, no content) is kept for usage-limit enforcement and abuse monitoring. Email verification and password reset links expire within hours and are deleted once used or expired. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. If you're in the European Economic Area or the UK, this processing relies on the legal bases of contractual necessity (running the service you signed up for) and legitimate interest (fraud/abuse prevention). If you're a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion, as described above — we do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of in that regard. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All traffic to sellscribe.io is encrypted over HTTPS. Session cookies are httpOnly and secure. Database queries are parameterized to prevent injection. Generated content is never written to our database in the first place.
Our infrastructure and the third-party services listed above (Anthropic, Stripe, Resend, Cloudflare) may process data in the United States or other countries. By using SellScribe, you understand your information may be processed outside your country of residence.
SellScribe is intended for adult business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and this applies whether or not you've created an account — including anonymous use of the generator. If we become aware that we've collected personal information from someone under 18, we'll delete it and terminate any associated account.
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, notify account holders by email.
